Garrett Gilbert of Lake Travis has two state championship rings, the 4A AP Player of the Year award, the Gatorade National Football Player of the Year award, and the single season and career passing yardage records in the state of Texas. Here is a look back at his senior season.

on February 7, 2008 in anticipation of bringing his championship play to the Forty Acres. Gilbert completed his high school career setting a state record of 12,537 passing yards, beating the previous mark set by Graham Harrell. Gilbert also threw for 136 career touchdowns – good for #2 in Texas history.
As a senior, he passed for 55 TDs and a Texas state record 4851 yards, with a paltry six interceptions. He also added 113 rushing attempts for 774 yards and 23 more scores.
