JUNIOR VIDEO: De'Aires Cotton

De'Aires Cotton of Alief Taylor has garnered a lot of attention from programs across the Big 12. Cotton ended all of the recruiting hoopla with a commitment to Coach Mack Brown and the Texas Longhorns over the weekend. Burnt Orange Beat has assembled a highlight package of Cotton from his junior season in which his Lions went 6-4 and two rounds into the playoffs.

The Texas Longhorns notched two big defensive tackle prospects in the first weekend of 2010 recruiting in De'Aires Cotton and Taylor Bible. Cotton chose Texas over offers from Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Oklahoma St. Cotton was also getting strong interest from LSU, Michigan, Oregon, and USC.

The 18-5A All-District first teamer stands 6-4 and weighs 275 pounds, but has a frame to be 315 pounds and a run stopper for the Longhorns. He was exited to get an offer from Texas over the weekend.

He told Burnt Orange Beat, "I just felt comfortable down there. Texas is the school I've always wanted to go to. I spoke to Mack Brown and he said that they wanted me to come play for them."
