Cobbs Still Excited about Texas Junior Day

When Tulsa, Oklahoma's Demarco Cobbs talks about his offer list, the names and numbers are dizzying. Cobbs was originally slated to make the first Texas Junior Day but a schedule change forced Cobbs to postpone his trip to the Lone Star state until the February 28 Junior Day. Burnt Orange Beat talked to Cobbs about his excitement about the trip and his latest offers.

Demarco Cobbs is making his plans for his trip to Austin on February 28th Junior Day. Originally, Cobbs was to join about 20 other prospects for the first junior day in Austin on February 8th but a few days before his departure, a change of plans forced him to postpone his trip until the end of the month. This time, he foresees no problems getting down to Austin.

"Yes, sir, I still plan on making it down to Austin for the 28th. I am excited about making it back there," Cobbs explained.

Since Cobbs did not make the first junior day weekend trip, but was going to get his Texas offer there, the coaches mailed him an offer the following week.

"I got an offer from Texas in the mail," Cobbs told Burnt Orange Beat. "Texas is still high on my list. I am looking forward to seeing their practice when I am down there. I want to see their academic center too," Cobbs said.

The multi-talented athlete is still working hard on his speed and quickness this spring while running track for his high school.

"The day after the season ended I started working on my speed. I've been going hard in track practice. I am running the 100 meters, the 200, the 4 x 100, and 4 x 400," Cobbs said.

Cobbs' offer list sounds like a roster of the Big 12 and SEC conferences, including Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Missouri, Florida, LSU, Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, and Tennessee.

Cobbs says that he wants to see how things progress before narrowing down his interest list.

As a junior, Cobbs passed for 1,012 yards and six touchdowns, rushed 130 times for 1,082 yards and 17 touchdowns, and caught six balls for 203 yards and another touchdown. Cobbs added a punt return touchdown of 86 yards and a 91-yard kickoff return for a score. He had five kick off returns for 140 yards on the season. Defensively, he added 24 tackles and two interceptions. He also blocked a punt.
