Rashod Favors Still on Texas Radar

Fort Worth Dunbar has a trio of highly coveted prospects in Darius White, Rashod Favors, and Dominique Sanders. Darius White already holds an offer from Texas and although Favors did not attend a Texas junior day, he could get a Texas offer very soon. Burnt Orange Beat spoke with Favors on Tuesday and discussed his situation.

Rashod Favors has created a buzz in the Fort Worth area after a great freshman season. After an injury-shortened sophomore season, Favors managed to stay injury free as a junior despite contributing on both sides of the ball at safety and running back.

As a result of his phenomenal success on the field, Favors has been invited to numerous junior days and holds almost ten offers.

"I have been invited to a bunch of junior days, but I haven't been able to make many with basketball. I did go to TCU's junior day and have been invited to Oklahoma's junior day on April 24th," Favors explained.

The Texas Longhorns actually invited him to both junior days in February although he was unable to attend either one.

"Texas actually invited me to both of their junior days, but I couldn't make it. I had a death in the family. If I had made the (Texas) junior day, I think they would have offered me. They have invited me down for the spring game," Favors said. "I still talk to Coach Chambers once a week."

Most of the schools that are recruiting are looking at the 6-0, 215-pounder as linebacker although a few think he can be a bruising safety.

"I have offers from Texas Tech, Baylor, Texas A&M, OU, Utah, Minnesota, TCU, SMU, and Stanford," said Favors.

Favors says that he plans to attend the Texas spring game in Austin on April 5.
