Longhorn Weekend Recruiting Buzz

Texas hosted numerous committed and uncommitted recruits at Sunday's minicamp. Burnt Orange Beat has had numerous updates over the weekend from the state track meet and the camp. See the updates on several of the biggest uncommitted targets including Trovon Reed and some big time 2011 targets.

The recruiting buzz swirling around Austin for the last several days has been dizzying. In case you missed them on the message boards, here is a snapshot.

Lancaster defensive back, Tyler Stephenson who was in Austin Thursday and Friday for the state track meet did not stay for the Sunday mini-camp. He also did not meet with the Texas coaches while in town.

After telling us last week that he did not think he would make either Texas minicamp, 2011 running back Aaron Green now believes that he will make next Sunday's camp. Green was headed to Nebraska to help move his brother there after his 100-meter hurdles.

2010 Marshall linebacker Aaron Franklin told Burnt Orange Beat yesterday that he would stay in Austin for mini-camp. Early reports show that he may have worked himself into an offer.

Trovon Reed, 2010 WR prospect, did not make the Sunday mini-camp. He was in Baton Rouge at LSU instead.

Perhaps the top OL in the country in the 2011 class, Christian Westerman from Chandler, Arizona, 6-5, 280, flew into town to take in the mini-camp with his parents.

As we reported in this week's Wrap, West Orange Stark's Trey Franks (2010) stayed for the mini-camp.
