McCoy, who always gives an open and honest opinion, which is rare today, said it was typical camp, great experience and gave him some confidence.
"It was a typical camp," said McCoy. "We threw routes, had fun, hung around each other (the commits) and competed. I was a great experience. I have struggled lately, in Elite 11 and with my accuracy, but I felt comfortable today. Kind of like I was on my home field. I threw the ball well and was accurate."
McCoy rotated with fellow quarterback commit Connor Wood. While the pair will be competing on a daily basis for years to come, they have built a friendship according to McCoy.
"We were together in the senior group. Connor and I are good friends. We are good friends and competitors. Connor threw the ball well today," McCoy said.
As for the receivers on hand, McCoy said the ball wasn't hitting the ground much, if any which is surprising considering the timing isn't always there with quarterbacks and receivers that haven't work much together.
"The talent at the receiver position was great. There weren't any balls hitting the ground today. John's (Harris) a player. I met him today. Darius (White) is a player. He's definitely a top caliber player. Timing plays a factor. At my hometown, I've been throwing to those guys for years, but these guys are so talented that they make my job easy," McCoy said.
McCoy says he will be throwing all summer with continual work on accuracy, especially the deep ball.
"A lot of my game is accuracy. Accuracy is the biggest part for me. I like to think that I'm really good on 13-15 yard routes. I'm working on a good, accurate outside shoulder deep ball. Everyone is always working on the placement of the deep ball," McCoy said.
On Saturday, Graham qualified for the 7-on-7 state tournament in Wichita Falls. The division II (3A and below) portion of the tournament will take place July 9-10 with division I taking place July 10-11.
