Aaron Franklin Chooses OU over Texas

Aaron Franklin entered the spring as the most underrated 2010 prospect in the state due to an ACL injury that kept him out of the entire 2008 season. The 6-1, 200-pounder went from a question mark to almost twenty offers. Today, Franklin chose to play his college ball at Oklahoma over Texas.

Marshall, Texas linebacker Aaron Franklin texted Burnt Orange Beat this evening to say that he committed to the Oklahoma Sooners over the Texas Longhorns.

Texas entered the Franklin sweepstakes after his spectacular June summer camp performance, and the Longhorns made a strong pus h for the speedy linebacker, but ultimately fell short.

Franklin visited the Longhorns unofficially last week.

Franklin had offers from Oklahoma, Texas, Baylor, Arkansas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Kansas State, TCU, Tennessee, Kansas State, Oklahoma State and Nebraska, among others.
