In Focus: Stony Point Tigers

Round Rock, Texas – The Stony Point Tigers have picked up where they left off in 2008. The suffocating defense has given up just three points in two games. On Thursday night, the Tigers came out of the locker room after halftime and scored 42 unanswered point to blow out neighboring Pflugerville Connally. Last year's dramatic run through the state playoffs by the Stony Point Tigers has given the 2009 team confidence to set its sights even higher this year. The Tigers are again anchored by their defense, which is led by senior cornerback Kevin White (TCU), senior safety Desmond Martin (Texas Tech), junior linebacker P.L. Lindley, and junior defensive tackle Jordan Wade.

On offense, junior slot receiver Stephen Williams returns with senior tight end Gerard Shillow. Both caught touchdown passes in Thursday's games. Williams finished with six catches for 151 yards.

In a little over three quarters of play, Lindley led the defense with five total tackles, including a sack and a TFL. Wade controlled the action in the middle and had a QBP and two tackles.

Connally is led by senior wide out Anthony Bryant, who might be a batter baseball player than football player.
