Name: Trey Metoyer
Height: 6-foot-2 Weight: 190 Forty:4.55
Projected position: safety
Scout.com Rating: No. 1 WR in 2011 class (5-star receiver)
Metoyer doesn't always run by the corner. He doesn't have to. There won't be many guys in the secondary that can out jump him for a ball. It's a good thing because his highlights show he doesn't have blazing speed. Just good enough. At 6-foot-2, with a 36 vertical, OU will be using Meytoer in the goal line real soon.
The Whitehouse product has always been inside the Top 10 nationally for the Scout.com receiver rankings, but recently the senior moved into the No. 1 spot. The thing that impressed me the most on his highlight tape is his route running ability. They are crisp and clean and should translate well to the next level. He is not jammed easy and won't be by many corners even in the Big 12.
As a junior, he recorded over 1,500 yards receiving, 77 catches and 15 touchdowns. Besides being a top football recruit, Metoyer also plays basketball (shooting guard, averages 16 points per game) and runs track (14.03 110-hurdles, 49.0 300-hurdles, 34' triple jump).
Metoyer chose Oklahoma over Arizona, Arkansas, Baylor, LSU, Nebraska, Mississippi, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, and Texas A&M. Get ready Texas fans, the Longhorns will be game-planning for Metoyer very soon. He should see the field pretty early.
