Alec Brown, a 7-foot center from Winona (MN) High, is one of the top available big men in the country. Brown helped lead the Winhawks to a back-to-back appearances in the Minnesota State Tournament. Last night the Toledo Rockets defeated IPFW 72-71, winning their 3rd game in the last four tries. Once again the Rockets started the game off slowly, but the UT bench came to the rescue Walk-on Jay Shunnar and freshman Jake Barnett led the way with 16 points each.

The Toledo Rockets hosted Wright State on Bob Nichols Court at Savage Arena Tuesday night with hopes to extend their winning streak to three games. The Rocket men's basketball team and the Lady Rockets have both played their exhibition games and are ready to open their respective 2009-10 basketball seasons. The Lady Rockets open the season Friday night at Savage Arena, while the men open at home on Saturday evening.
