At 6-foot-3, 188-pounds, Washington, D.C. (Gonzaga ) wide receiver, Max Fisher is one of the premier prospects in the East Coast for the Class of 2017. Fisher’s athletic ability and catch radius is one of the main reasons why the Gonzaga High School standout has fourteen total offers from schools like Boston College, Eastern Michigan, NC State, Western Michigan, Connecticut, and most recently Toledo.
Fisher received his offer from Toledo on Tuesday night when Toledo’s defensive backs Coach Cory Robinson came down to his high school and offered the standout. The Rockets have once upon a time targeted a wide receiver from our nation's capital in Alonzo Russell, who is now trying out with the Cincinnati Bengals after a highly successful career with the Rockets.
I got offered by Toledo in person by Coach Corey Robinson, the defensive backs coach on Tuesday,” Fisher commented about his Toledo offer. “Coach Robinson said that he loved my film and he thought I would be a great fit at the position. Also, how my height and skills can spread the field out.”
After his offer from The Rockets, Fisher now has a lot of interest in Toledo and all they have to offer. Not to mention, he also plans to visit Toledo this summer in June to meet the coaches and start to form some comfort with the the program.
“I think they're a consistently good program, they're always at the top or near the top of their conference,” Fisher said about Toledo. “I'd say Toledo is one of my top schools for sure. Toledo is a great program but I haven't had time to set anything up yet, but I'm definitely trying to get up there soon for a visit. I'm thinking sometime in June.”
Toledo is one of the many schools who are currently standing out for the Gonzaga High School wide out. However, he is also looking into a few other schools like Boston College, NC State, Bowling Green and Ball State right now. Those schools will most likely get a visit from him over the summer.
“Boston College, NC State, Toledo, Bowling Green and Ball State are the few schools who are currently standing out to me right now. I plan to visit Toledo, Boston College, and North Carolina State over the summer. I want to explore those schools some more.”
Fisher has shown a lot of interest in Toledo and plans to visit this summer. However, it will be tough for the Rockets to pull Fisher out of the D.C. area. In addition, Toledo will have to go head-to-head North Carolina State and teams like Boston College.
