North Central High School (Indianapolis, Ind.) standout, 2017 linebacker Walter Haire is in contact with several programs. Currently, Haire is hearing from Virginia, Indiana, Iowa, Purdue, Ohio State, Cincinnati and Tennessee. While a couple of those schools have not offered, Haire is still looking at Toledo Rockets. Despite playing linebacker at North Central High, Haire translates to a defensive end at the next level.

“The Toledo program seems to be in really good shape,” Haire mentioned about Toledo. “They dominate the Mid-American Conference and they are a very attractive program. I will be visiting this summer, no date yet, but I think sometime in June.”

Haire has been in constant contact with Toledo Linebackers Coach, Mike Ward for a few weeks now. According to Haire, the Rockets are pushing him to get on campus and participate in one of their summer camps but also to see the campus.

I have been in touch with Coach Ward a lot recently,” Haire mentioned about Toledo's linebacker coach. “He said that they want me to come to campus and want me to come to a camp this summer. He seems like a wonderful motivated person and a good linebackers coach. They are still interested in me. They came into school to see me workout a few days ago. I think I performed well in my workout, I always put in work in the weight room and in the gym.”

The Rockets were one of the first to offer the North Central High School Standout. Since Toledo offered, they’ve recruited him hard and see him as a top-target. As a result, Haire has the same interest in Toledo.

“Toledo is very high on my list. I can’t wait to visit Toledo in the summer, they have a great facility, a wonderful team, and coaching staff. However, Toledo is not the only school standing out for me. So is Iowa state, Northern Illinois, Bowling Green, Indiana, and Virginia. I plan to visit all of my top-schools this summer.”

Like Haire mentioned above, he plans to visit several schools during the summer. He has already taken visits to Northern Illinois, Bowling Green, Indiana, and Virginia. Whichever school gets Haire’s commitment will have to give him a home feeling and comfortability. Over the summer, Haire says he will be visiting schools to see what schools have those qualities and what ones do not.

“I am hearing from and would like to visit Iowa State, Eastern Michigan, New Mexico, Western Illinois, Maryland, Purdue, Eastern Kentucky, and Miami (OH). On my visits, I have to feel comfortable and it has to feel like home.”

The Rockets are in very good shape for Haire. If they can get him on campus for a visit over the summer and maybe a camp, The Rockets might become a legit threat to land a very talented Indiana linebacker prospect.
