Cole Bentley is a six-foot, five-inch defensive tackle from Belfry, Kentucky and when you throw in the fact that he's 300-pounds with stellar athleticism, several programs begin to drool when thinking about a stud like Bentley holding down their trenches. Bentley is highly sought after by several major programs around the country, including offers from Cincinnati, Colorado State, Georgia Tech, Virginia and several others. Amongst those several others, is Toledo. The Rockets became one of the first offers for the Kentucky native as they offered him on February 22nd, just weeks after 2016 National Signing Day.
Bentley, who holds more than fifteen offers is being recruited as an offensive guard at some schools and a defensive tackle by others. Either way, one thing is for certain, Bentley can fill the gaps in the trenches. With so many offers, the 2017 prospect says he hasn't told really anybody who his favorite schools are.
"My recruitment is going great," Bentley stated, "I have a top-six but my top-two isn't quite finished and I haven't shared that list with anyone, not even my parents."
Though Bentley is keeping his cards very close to his chest, he did tell us that Toledo is, "in the mix" within his recruitment. Bentley told us he really loves the family atmosphere in Toledo but there's another reason why the Rockets are in the mix for Bentley's services.
"I love how well the coaches treat me, they are great people, have a great bond together, and want to win," he stated on the Rocket coaching staff.
Bentley has stated that Marshall and Toledo are the two programs recruiting him the hardest. However, Bentley has been in contact with Florida State and Louisville. Aside from this, he has also been on a visit to Georgia Tech and came away very impressed.
