Toledo Football Once Again Adding National Attention in 2016

It's no secret that the Toledo Rockets' football program receives major television coverage every season. In 2016, nothing has changed.

Over the past few seasons, the Toledo Rockets have received countless appearances on national television. In the 2016 season, it appears nothing will change. Television and kickoff times were announced for several 2016 games on Thursday as the Rockets look to bring home a Mid-American Conference championship.

The Toledo Football season will begin on Friday, September 2 in Jonesboro, Arkansas against the Arkansas State Red Wolves as the game gets moved for more coverage. Reportedly, ESPN2 or ESPNU will pick up the game and present it nationally at 8 p.m. on Friday night.

A few weeks later, the Rockets will once again receive national coverage as they travel to Provo, Utah to take on Brigham Young University. The game will be help on Friday night, September 30, with a time To Be Announced but the game will be either held on ESPN or ESPN2.

Other games in the 2016 season on national television will be Wednesday, November 2 at Akron at 7:30 pm on ESPN2. Aside from Akron, Toledo's matchup at Northern Illinois on November 9 will be played at U.S. Cellular Field, the home of the Chicago White Sox and will be on ESPN2 or ESPNU as well at 8 p.m. ET. The Rockets then return home to the Glass Bowl to host Ball State on Wednesday, November 16 in a game that will also be held on ESPN2 or ESPNU.

The Toledo Football schedule also has two games optioned to CBS Sports Network, home against Ohio on Thursday, October 27 as well as Western Michigan on the road at Waldo Stadium on Friday, November 25.
