Toledo Ready To Catch Catch Fire Once Again On The Recruiting Trail

Toledo might just be catching fire once again on the recruiting trail after landing seven commitments during the last streak. Below, is the list of prospects that might be apart of that streak.

A few weeks ago, Toledo was on fire on the recruiting trail. They were able to land eight prospects in only about a week long span. Landing prospects like Trent Cloud, Anthony Crider, Vincent McConnell, Kelvin Ateman Jr., Jamal Allen, Letayveon Beaton, and Saeed Holt.

Toledo’s hot streak of landing commitments on the recruiting trail has slowed down and will for at least for another week. However, that streak may come around once again with a few sources informing Toledo Scout that they might be landing a few more commitments next week.

Here are some of the candidates:

LB Terry Straughter, 6’0” 200lbs. Opa Locka, FL (Miami Carol City)

Toledo Scout has been informed that Straughter will announce his commitment sometime next week to Toledo. He only has two other offers from FIU and UAB, but the Rockets are his clear cut leader. The coaching staff has had a lot of prior success in the state of Florida and they might be just adding to that prior success with Straughter. Too make things better, we have confirmed that he is a take for the Toledo coaching staff even though there is a lot of linebacker targets still on the board.

ATH Travell Harris, 5’9” 170lbs. Tampa, FL (Jesuit)

Harris recently named Toledo his leader and he is planning on visiting the Rockets in mid July for the first time. If the coaching staff is able to roll out the red carpet for Harris and impress him, he might just commit on his visit as the Rockets have the lead within his recruitment by a large margin. Then add in the need for some more speedy receivers and athletic playmakers it might be a perfect fit.

LB Derrick Barnes, 6’0” 241lbs. Louisville, KY (Holy Cross)

The coaching staff has been pursuing Barnes very hard, more than any other program who is currently recruiting Barnes. Due to the relationship with the coaches and interest from both parties, he has named Toledo his leader within his recruitment. Not to mention, he is planning on making his commitment sometime during the dead period and July 15th was a date that thrown around by his family. Expect him to commit to the Rockets sometime in the next few weeks.

WR Carmoni Green, 6’1” 192lbs. Miami, FL (Miami Central)

Green is somewhat of an unknown name to a lot of Toledo fans, but he is a four-star prospect and may just end up in this class. He will commit before his senior season and is planning a Toledo visit sometime this summer. The Rockets look to be high up on his list because of the early playing time and relationship with the Toledo coaching staff. If Green ends up at Toledo, this might be the biggest recruiting win for the staff.
