In the middle of a sellout crowd on Saturday afternoon at the Glass Bowl, Toledo quarterback commit, Caleb Martin looked on, picturing himself in that offense. The Fort Recovery (Ohio) quarterback has been committed to the Rockets since March and is an essential piece to the 2017 recruiting class. Martin, who has thrown for more than 1,000 yards in just six games so far this season, is a three-star by Scout.com. On Saturday, he witnessed a big 42-35 victory over Bowling Green in the annual rivalry.
"I really enjoyed the atmosphere and loved how they played. It's always great getting up there and seeing the coaches and hanging out with the other commits as well."
The six-two, 190-pound gunslinger has been a major recruiter for Toledo over the past several months as well, calling several recruits and holding the class together. Several commits and targets joined Martin on campus this past weekend for Homecoming and the big game.
"I visited with Michael Warren, Tycen Anderson, Mitch Berg, Trent Cloud, Bryce Mitchell, Nick Kovacs, Drew Rosi and Vincent McConnell plus a couple of 2018 targets, including a big offensive line target in John Dirksen who I played against on Friday night," Martin stated.
One target that Toledo looked forward to hosting on Saturday afternoon was Morgan Ellison, who ended up unable to visit due to sickness. As for Martin, he says he will look to take his official visit sometime in the winter so he can enjoy an entire weekend at his soon-to-be home in Northwest Ohio.
