Fort Recovery Defeats Covington High School; Martin Shines

Fort Recovery High School dominated Covington in a big upset on Saturday evening as they advance to the OHSAA Regional Championship. Toledo quarterback commit, Caleb Martin had a nice game to assist in the victory.

Toledo quarterback commit, Caleb Martin has had a tremendous season at Fort Recovery High School. However, he proved to have a clutch gene when he needs it on Saturday night. Fort Recovery would take on Covington High School on Saturday night, the No. 1 team in the state in their division. However, the game would not go as planned for Covington. Instead, Fort Recovery would dominate on the ground and in the air for a few big plays when they were needed as Caleb Martin helped lead the charge in the victory.

Martin, a six-two, 190-pound three-star, is currently rated as the No. 6 quarterback in the state of Ohio by Scout and he proved to be just that on Saturday. Martin would throw the ball only twelve times on Saturday, completing six of those for 126 yards and a touchdown along with six carries on 38 yards.

"We definitely had a great gameplan coming in and we knew that they just couldn't match up with us physically, so we took advantage of that. I think we ran for almost 300 yards and it just felt great to dominate a game like we did. At this point, it's just survive and advance," Martin told us.

As Fort Recovery moves on, they'll face Minster, the same team they beat in the Regional Championship last season. We'll keep you posted on that game as well as several other Toledo commits in action.
