On March 11, the Toledo Rockets received a verbal commitment from Fort Recovery, Ohio quarterback Caleb Martin. Today, on National Signing Day, that verbal commitment became a solid commitment as he sent in his National Letter of Intent. Martin, a six-two, 190-pound quarterback is someone the Rocket coaching staff really likes. While Martin may not the most mobile gunslinger in the world, he possesses tremendous arm accuracy and has great knowledge of Toledo traditions and the offensive scheme in which he will be implemented into.
The in-state product is currently seen as the sixth best quarterback in the state of Ohio and helped Fort Recovery High School advance fairly deep into the OHSAA playoffs as a senior, despite injuries. Martin was part of the gel that held the 2017 class together as a true leader and recruiter for the Rockets.
Happy National Signing Day 2017. As always, stay tuned to Toledo Scout.
