Florida DT Kedonis Haslem Signs with the Rockets

Arguably the biggest, certainly in terms of size, commit of the 2017 class for the Toledo Rockets is Florida defensive tackle Kedonis Haslem. Here's what he brings to the Rockets now that his National Letter of Intent has been sent in.

Son of former NBA forward, Udonis Haslem, defensive tackle Kedonis Haslem is one of the biggest commits in this year's class for the Toledo Rockets. The nearly six-four, 290-pounder committed to the Rockets on January 28 during an official visit. As one of the top defensive tackles in the South region, Haslem possesses the strength and overwhelming motor to make an immediate impact for the Rocket defensive line. In terms of rankings, Haslem brings the star power to the Glass City and will definitely help beef up the middle.

Haslem held several bigger offers such as PurdueSouth Carolina, and West Virginia but the Rockets really stood out to him due to their high level of interest and consistent pursuit.

In terms of the scouting report on Haslem, here's what Scout.com's Corey Bender has to say:

"Haslem, the son of NBA power forward Udonis Haslem, is a young man that flashes great passion for the game of football. He possesses that coveted size in the trenches at 6-foot-3.5, 290 pounds, and really gets after it each play with impressive intensity and effort. He has the tendency to stand up at the snap of the ball, so pad level is one area of improvement moving forward. Haslem is a hard-nosed defensive lineman that provides nice potential and athletic bloodlines."

As always, stay tuned to Toledo Scout.
