Akron Athlete DeAmonte King Signs with Toledo

As the No. 3 athlete in the state of Ohio, DeAmonte King brings true athleticism and explosiveness to the 2017 recruiting class. Here's where he fits in.

Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary Athlete, DeAmonte King was one of the biggest targets of the summer for the Toledo Rockets. However, after verbally committing to West Virginia, the Rockets turned their focus elsewhere. That is until early January when the three-star was told by the Mountaineer coaching staff that they planned to grayshirt King, which was something he wasn't interested in. Instead, King planned an official visit to Toledo and ultimately verbally committed to Toledo. Today, that committed became true when King faxed in his National Letter of Intent.

King, a six-foot, 170-pound athlete will likely play cornerback at Toledo but has the skills to play wide receiver. According to the Akron product, he has told us that the Rocket coaching staff is giving him the choice of what he wants to play. We'll keep you posted but either way, he'll be a special add to this dynamic signing class.
