Big Bodied Defensive Lineman Receives First Offer from Toledo

The Toledo coaching staff is already reaching into the 2019 recruiting class for Walled Lake Western (Michigan) High School defensive lineman, Spencer Brown.

Jason Candle and his coaching staff aren't wasting any time preparing for the 2019 recruiting class. Last week, the Rockets dipped into the class for Walled Lake Western High School (Mich.) product Spencer Brown. The six-six, 275-pound anchor in the trenches really likes what he knows about the Rockets.

"It felt great," Brown told us about his offer, "First of many, it gave me a wake up call to grind and to receive more offers but the offer means a lot to me. I like Toledo and enjoyed their campus, coaches and facilities."

Brown, who visited Toledo in the 2016 season for the Battle of I-75 against Bowling Green on Homecoming, says it was an incredible environment to watch a game in.

"It was a very hype and up-tempo game and I love the atmosphere at Toledo, it's one of the best stadiums in the MAC."

The Michigan product is receive major interest from several other programs like Michigan StateBowling Green, and Central Michigan but the Rockets are the early standout for him:

"The Toledo coaches are down to earth, they are up and hype for each game and they keep things real and that's what I like. I also like that Toledo has a great engineering program and their campus is nice."

It's never too early to be thinking ahead in recruiting and the Toledo coaching staff obviously knows that. Spencer Brown is going to be a big name in 2019.
