Wisconsin Athlete Lawrence Johnson Receives Toledo Offer

Jason Candle and the Toledo Rockets love recruiting quick athletes who have a background in track. Waunakee, Wisconsin athlete Lawrence Johnson fits that mold.

Five-eleven, 205-pound runningback Lawrence Johnson of Waunakee High School possesses tremendous speed and skill as a dynamic athlete in the 2018 class. The back-to-back fastest 100 meter and 200 meter underclassmen in the state of Wisconsin, Johnson possesses 4.39 40-yard dash speed, something the Toledo Rockets are very high on.

"This offer means a lot to me. Toledo is a team that values the runningback position, for them to be able to like me at a position they love is absolutely breathtaking."

Despite being known for his speed, Johnson says he likes his strengths beyond his quickness.

"I would describe my game as good ball carrier vision, dangerous in space, a great burst of speed with top end speed that's reached quickly," Johnson told us.

As of right now, Johnson holds an impressive Mid-American Conference offer sheet with Ball StateBowling GreenCentral MichiganNorthern Illinois and now Toledo all offering.
