The Lady Rockets basketball team got things started on the right foot last night, as they defeated the Ohio Legends 70-69 in their exhibition opener. Four players reached double digit figures in scoring, led by Lisa Johnson's 19 point performance.
Toledo jumped out to a 39-32 halftime lead, but the Ohio Legends shot 60% from the field in the 2nd half to keep the game close. UT did open a 48-36 lead early in the 2nd half though, but the Ohio Legends came on late and had a chance to win it in the final seconds.
Along with Johnson's 19 points, Tamasha Scotton added 14 points, Allie Clifton added 13 points, and Jessica Williams accounted for 10 points to lead the way for the Lady Rockets.
Toledo will play one more exhibition game against Ashland (Division II) at Savage hall on Sunday, November 4th at 1:00pm. Then the Lady Rockets will open the season at home against IPFW on Saturday, November 10th.
