New Offers for South Dakota Punter

It's only been about a week and a half since Rocket Digest last talked to South Dakota punter Kyle Martens, but a lot has happened for him during that time. New offers and another official visit highlight Kyle's latest discussion with Rocket Digest.

South Dakota punter Kyle Martens has been a busy man the last couple of weeks. On top of playing basketball at Spearfish High School, Kyle attended the Showcase in Las Vegas camp last week.

"Things have been going really well," Martens told Rocket Digest. "I talked to several schools at the camp. Missouri was at the camp and talked to me. Colorado State was there and talked to me. Kansas State and Stanford were at the camp. Toledo was also at the camp and I got to talk to them again," Kyle added.

When Rocket Digest last spoke to Kyle he only had an offer from Rice, but he nows holds some new offers. "UNLV offered," said Martens. "Kansas has been talking to me a lot. They lost their punter from this year and talked to me about coming in and punting, but paying my way first semester and then I would go on scholarship 2nd semester (greyshirt)."

Kyle will be visiting Rice this weekend, and he has setup another official visit. "I am going to visit Stanford next weekend (1/25/08)," said Martens. He does not have an offer from Stanford to date, but they are one of his favorite schools.

Even though Kyle has not yet received an offer from Toledo, they are still actively recruiting and staying in contact with him. He is still open to Toledo as well, and does not have a timeframe for making a decision.
