This week another Joliet CC football player has received an offer from Toledo, this time for the 2009 recruiting class.

That player is defensive back Deonte Ball. The 6-1, 195 pound sophomore led Joliet with 5 interceptions as a freshman last season.

Rocket assistant coach Stan Clayton has been recruiting the talented defensive back and offered him the scholarship the other day. "Deonte got his first offer from Toledo this week," said Joliet CC Head Coach Thomas Minnick. He has also been hearing from Wisconsin, Michigan State, and New Mexico recently.

Deonte runs a very solid 4.5 in the forty yard dash, and he is a physical player that likes to hit. That makes for a dynamic player that is destined to play big-time college football.

"Deonte is a very physical corner who will come up and knock you out," Minnick told Rocket Digest earlier today. He added, "he is very coachable and is very dedicated in the weight room."

Another Joliet CC player that Toledo is recruiting is tight end Kyle Weber. The 6-6, 258 pounder will be a sophomore this fall. He runs a 4.7 forty yard dash.

"He will go big time," Coach Minnick told Rocket Digest. "Toledo was the first to offer him. Kyle runs a 4.7 forty yard dash, is a very fluid runner, and has great hands."

Stay tuned to Rocket Digest over the coming months as we keep you updated on Deonte and Kyle and their recruitment process.
