Cody Parker has only been playing football for one year, but he already has the attention of college recruiters. He was a First Team All Greater Catholic League at tight end last season, and won the school's Special Teams MVP award at Roger Bacon High School in Cincinnati, OH.

The 6-4, 245 pounder camped at Toledo back in April for UT's Junior Day, and he has stayed in contact with the Rockets throughout the summer. "I'M doing well," Cody recently told Rocket Digest. I am hearing from Purdue, Miami of Ohio, Ohio University, Toledo, WKU, and WVU." Cody has been talking to UT recruiting coordinator Doug Dowing and UT assistant coach Mark Rhea. Rhea recruits the Cincinnati area for Toledo.

There recently was a TV report that Cody has already made his collegiate commitment, but it wasn't true. "I haven't got any offers yet, but according to one of my friend's dad who watched Fox Television, I committed to Toledo already," Cody commented. He jokingly continued, "I was planning on calling the coach (at UT) to ask what's up?"

Even though he has not committed to Toledo, nor received an offer, he is one of the tight end prospects that are high on Toledo's list. And this season he is going to get the opportunity to play more on defense as well. "This year I will be playing defensive end as well as tight end and punter and kick off," said Cody. "I'll also be on special teams."

Scout.com has Cody Parker rated as the 97th best tight end prospect in the nation for the 2009 recruiting class. "Yea, I am pretty excited to see I'm ranked that well after only one year of playing," Cody replied about the #97 ranking. Before playing football as a junior in 2007, Cody played the goalie position in soccer.

Cody is also a very good student in the classroom. He holds a 3.3 GPA.
