Monterae Williams began playing football when he was 13 years old. He started out as a running back, and his talents at the position have kept him in the position. He now is the starting running back for one of the most storied high school football programs in the state of Ohio, Canton McKinley.

McKinley has fallen on harder times most recently, going 3-7 last year and starting out 0-2 this year before beating Uniontown Lake 24-17 last weekend behind Monterae's 116 yards rushing and 2 TD's, including the gamewinner with under two minutes to play.

Monterae recently told Rocket Digest that he is hearing from Cincinnati, Akron, Michigan State, and Illinois. Though he is not really hearing anything from Toledo, he does like the Rocket football program and is hoping to hear from them.

Williams does not have any official visits setup, but he did mention one school he would like to visit if he is offered a scholarship from them. "Looking to visit Toledo if I'm offered," Monterae said.

Monterae Williams goes to the same high school as current Toledo running back Morgan Williams, but the two are not related.

Monterae knows that the speed of the game is much faster when you get to college, and he is working hard to prepare for football in the college ranks.

Right now he has no timeframe for making a commitment and wants to see how his senior season plays out. He's hopeful that his leadership and drive will help him land a Division I football scholarship.
