University of Toledo head football coach Tom Amstutz and UT Athletic Director Mike O'Brien announced at a 10am news conference today that Tom Amstutz will step down as head football coach at the end of this season.
Amstutz told reporters at the press conference that he and AD Mike O'Brien came to a mutual decision over the weekend that he would step down as football coach and take over as the director of special projects in the Alumni Relations office at UT, beginning in January.
UT Athletic Director Mike O'Brien said that the search for a new head football coach will begin immediately.
