Toledo, OH - Redshirt freshman running back Morgan Williams set a new school record for rushing yards in a single game with 330 yards as the Toledo Rockets defeated the Miami Redhawks 42-14 tonight at the Glass Bowl in Toledo, OH. Williams rushed for three touchdowns, including an 86 yard scamper with 8:03 left in the 2nd quarter.
Redshirt freshman running back Adonis Thomas scored his first touchdown of his collegiate career on a 10 yard run with 8:12 left in the game.
Toledo dominated the Redhawks all game, and Morgan Williams seemed to gain at least 5-7 yards on nearly every carry. Aaron Opelt scored on a one yard quarterback keeper and Robin Bailey scored on a reverse from 5 yards out for Toledo's other scores.
Toledo, 3-8 on the season, will host Bowling Green next Friday in the Glass Bowl in the Battle of I-75, a rivalry that dates back to 1919. The game will be televised on ESPN Classic and is scheduled for a 3:30pm start.
