Former University of Toledo wide receiver Andrew Hawkins has signed a free agent contract with the Montreal Alouettes of the CFL for the 2009 season.
Andrew was a senior at Toledo in 2007. He caught 29 passes for 246 yards and carried the ball 11 times for 54 yards and one touchdown in his final season at Toledo. He had 67 catches for 432 yards and 4 touchdown receptions and 1 rushing touchdown in his career at Toledo.
After the 2007 season Hawkins ran a 4.34 forty time at Toledo's pro day, getting him on the radar of some NFL scouts. Some teams were looking at him as either a wide receiver or cornerback, and he went to the Cleveland Browns camp but didn't make the team.
This past season he spent time with the University of Toledo as a graduate assistant coach.
