Marjarvin Chapman knows how to win. He's played his high school football at South Panola High School in Batesville, Mississippi. Before losing in the state championship game this season, South Panola had been undefeated for the last five years, winning five straight state championships.

Chapman is a 300 pound defensive tackle that anchored the South Panola defense. He recorded 55 tackles, 5 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery, and 6 tackles for loss as a senior in 2008. This helped him earn First Team 5A All-State status in the state of Mississippi.

Marjarvin was being recruited by Toledo's old coaching staff last summer, but as his senior season went on he stopped hearing from Toledo. Now with a new coaching staff in place, Chapman is hoping to gain their interest.

"I have friends that stay up there (Toledo)," Marjarvin said.

Chapman has listed Toledo among his favorites for some time, and when Toledo beat Michigan back in October it sparked his interest in the Rockets even more. "They (UT) played good and played unintimidated and I love that about them," Chapman told Rocket Digest shortly after Toledo's 13-10 victory over Michigan. He added, "that makes me want to go to Toledo even more."

Marjarvin hopes that the new coaching staff at Toledo will like what they see in him and invite him in for an official visit. He recently sent Toledo some of his game film for Coach Beckman to review and evaluate him.

Chapman lists Toledo, Memphis, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, UAB, LSU, and Clemson as his favorite schools.
