Is Perrysburg Star Still Committed to BG?

Olatunji (T.J.) Fatinikun is a local defensive end prospect from Perrysburg High School. He committed to Bowling Green last summer, but with the coaching change is he still solid to the Falcons? Find out that and more in the latest recruiting update for T.J. Fatinikun.

Olatunji (T.J.) Fatinikun is a local prospect out of Perrysburg High School. At 6-2 and 230 pounds, he is a bit light for defensive end, but has room to grow and runs a very good 4.6 forty. He is also a good student, and scored a 21 on his ACT last spring.

He committed to Bowling Green last summer, but with the coaching change there he has opened his recruitment back up a bit.

He has offers from Toledo and Bowling Green. He visisted Toledo this past weekend.

"It was a great time," Fatinikun said of the visit to Toledo. "I was able to meet with the new coaching staff and also take a good look at the city. I was able to learn about the coaches and their future plans to turn the program around, and I liked everything about the plan and the program."

T.J. was impressed with new Rocket head coach Tim Beckman. "Coach Beckman was a heck of a guy and someone I can see myself playing for," he said. "He brings great attitude to the program and so does his assistants."

Fatinikun's recruiting coach at Toledo is co-defensive coordinator Mike Ward, the former defensive coordinator at Bowling Green. He is being recruited to Bowling Green by assistant coach Doug Phillips.

So after a strong visit to Toledo, Fatinikun is definitely considering both Toledo and Bowling Green, and is no longer considered a verbal commitment to BGSU. As for a time frame on making a decision? "I believe I would make my decision a week or two after my visit to Bowling Green on January 16th."
