Back in October Rocket Digest reported on a football prospect named that Tom Amstutz and his staff were recruiting out of Bloomfield, MI. That prospect is Shaquille Marshall, a 6-0 and 223 pound linebacker at Brother Rice High School.
Marshall, who also runs a 4.58 forty, was hearing from Toledo, Illinois, Akron, Eastern Michigan, Central Michigan, Bowling Green, and Buffalo back in October.
Recently Rocket Digest caught up with Shaquille for an update.
"I sent (to Toledo) my new film, that was recently posted on my scout.com profile, while the old staff was still there," Marshall said in recapping the last couple of months. "They told me that they would refer me to the new head coach and to check back in a couple of weeks."
Shaquille is hearing from some new schools too. "The most recent is Northern Illinois and a few Big East schools," said Marshall.
So where does Toledo stand after having a coaching change and having new schools interested in Shaquille?
"Toledo is still very much in the mix, because I loved the campus when I last visited," Marshall said.
Shaquille is hoping that there is enough mutual interest between Toledo and himself to setup an official visit with the Rockets. "As of right now I don't have any official visits setup. I'll probably start to go on them in January."
Be on the lookout for more from Rocket Digest on Shaquille's reruitment and status as a Toledo Rocket football prospect as we get closer to signing day in February.
