Samuel Randall is an athlete from Wingfield High School in Jackson, Mississippi. The 5-8 and 155 pounder plays running back, defensive back, and returns kicks and punts. One of his key aspects is his speed. "I ran a 4.34 at the Southern Miss camp after my sophomore year in high school," Randall told Rocket Digest.
On the recruiting front, Randall has not received any official offers, but is hearing from Toledo, Jackson State, Illinois, Boise State, Southern, Louisiana Tech, Vanderbilt, Marshall, Kansas State, Missouri, and Kentucky.
Head coach Tim Beckman is recruiting Samuel for Toledo. "I think Coach Beckman is a great coach, Randall told Rocket Digest this evening. "He has coached with Jim Tressel, Urban Meyer, and Mike Gundy, and those are some of the best coaches in America. I think Coach Beckman will be one of the best coaches in college football, if not the best coach, in the years to come."
"Coach also has great character, and he wants his players to have great character. That's what I really like about Coach Beckman," Randall added.
Samuel has not visited Toledo yet, but he says that if he receives an offer he will visit them as soon as possible and would love to play football at Toledo for Coach Beckman.
Depite not visiting Toledo and being from Mississippi, Randall is very familiar with the Rockets. "Toledo is a great football program," said Randall. He added, "I love the tradition, and it's a great place to play football. I also like that they play on television every year. I think they play in a good conference, in the Mid-American Conference. Great school, and Coach Beckman, Coach Beckman, Coach Beckman!"
Randall's recruitment with Toledo is very recent. "I talked to Coach Beckman on the phone yesterday and am sending him my senior film today."
Samuel scored a 19 on his ACT test and he expects to be qualified with the NCAA clearinghouse.
