Ohio DE has Rocket Offer

One of the priorities this recruiting season by new head coach Tim Beckman appears to be the defensive line. Coach Beckman and his staff have targeted a number of defensive end and defensive tackle prospects in the last month. Read on to see who the latest is to receive an offer from Toledo.

Cincinnati Princeton defensive end Anthony Shoemaker is the latest prospect on the defensive side of the ball to receive an offer from Toledo.

The 6-4 and 245 pound defensive tackle/tight end has offers from several schools, and believes he will get an offer from another school soon. "Well I have got offers from Toledo, Miami, Ohio, Eastern Michigan, Eastern Illinois, and Tennesse Tech," Shoemaker told Rocket Digest last night. He added, "I should be getting offered by Syracuse tomorrow."

He played both tight end and defensive end in high school, but Anthony is just being recruited as a defensive end for college.

Shoemaker is being recruited to Toledo by new assistant and defensive line coach Patrick Graham, whom was formerly at Notre Dame.

"I'm really liking Toledo, and I have a visit (there) the 23rd of January," said Anthony.

Shoemaker has good speed for a defensive end, being timed with a 4.7 forty yard dash. He is also a good student with a 2.9 GPA.
