Robinson Hearing From UT

Darius Robinson, a top defensive prospect from the state of Georgia, has emerged as a priority for the Rockets 2010 recruiting class. recently caught up with this talented cover man to get the latest on his recruitment, plus find out if the Rockets are in the running to secure his services.

A 5-foot-11, 175-pound defensive back from Atlanta, Ga., Darius Robinson is one of the top prospects from the Peach state. Toledo, and specifically the new Rockets head coach, Tim Beckman, has taken notice. Others have as well.

"I'm hearing from many schools. I'm hearing from Alabama, Auburn, Mississippi State, Vanderbuilt, Georgia Tech, NC State, Cincinnati, Duke, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest," Robinson told earlier this week.

"And I currently have offers from Toledo and South Florida," he coninued. "I've talked to a lot of other coaches and they all say that once they have their film sessions I should get more offers."

It's not surprising to see so many schools paying the talented cover man attention. With good size, and 4.43 speed, Robinson has just what most coaches look for in a college cornerback, the position in which Toledo has targeted Robinson.

"I'm really impressed with Toledo's program," the cornerback said. "They were my first offer and I will always show love to the ones who showed me love first! I have had contact with almost every coach on the staff, and, with the way they carry themselves, I could consider going to Toledo. It's a school of high interest to me."

Six-hundred and sixty-five miles from Toledo, Robinson, who also boasts an always impressive 3.353 grade point average, is yet to visit Toledo. However, something could be in the plans for the future as the defensive back starts to better examine each of his current top 10 schools.

Toledo, South Florida, Auburn, Alabama, Virginia Tech, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, Goergia Tech, Clemson and Duke currently make up that top 10 list, but Robinson appears in no hurry to whittle down his list and come to a final decision.

Stay tuned to as we continue to update the latest with this top-of-the-board Toledo prospect.
