Former Rocket offensive lineman and current NFL player John Greco has been added as a guest coach at the Rockets' spring football game this Friday. As well as Greco, former UT linebacker Tom Ward has also been added as a guest coach.
Tom Ward played linebacker at Toledo from 1998-2002. He recorded 13.5 tackles in the 2002 Motor City Bowl against Boston College, the fifth highest total in Motor City Bowl game history. As a senior at Toledo that year, he led the team with 180 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and one interception.
As a junior in 2001 he also led the team in tackles with 129 total tackles. He also had 8 tackles for loss and 5 sacks.
John Greco was a staple at left tackle for Toledo during his career (2003-2007). He was a starter for four years after redshirting in 2003. He was First-Team All-MAC in each of his last three years at Toledo. He was drafted by the St. Louis Rams in the 2008 NFL Draft. He played in 9 games, starting one, as a rookie last season.
Unfortunately former Rocket receiver Lance Moore will not be able to attend the Rockets' spring game this Friday as originally planned. So the six guest coaches will be John Greco, Tom Ward, Bruce Gradkowski, Mike Bell, Jalen Parmele, and Wasean Tait.
The Spring game is on Friday, April 17th at 7:00pm. It is free to the public. An autograph session with several of the players will take place immediately following the game.
