Derek Roback is a 6-2, 221 pound quarterback at Waverly High School in Ohio. He has 4.66 speed and is being recruited for different positions on offense and defense by different schools. He has offers from Ball State, Harvard, Toledo, Bowling Green, Miami of Ohio, and Ohio.

He attended the Scout.com Cincinnati combine last year and ran a 4.66 forty and a 4.37 short shuttle. He also had a 33.5 inch vertical jump at the combine.

Derek is high on Toledo's list of prospects and has been recruited to Toledo by Running backs coach and recruiting coordinator Alex Golesh. Toledo likes what he can do as a quarterback, but also sees him playing a role as a tight end so he is being recruited for both positions.

As the summer hits the halfway point in July, Roback has begun to dwindle his list. In fact, Derek is now only looking at three schools. "Toledo, Ball State, and Harvard," Roback told Rocket Digest. He added, "I'm not sure if I want to go that Ivy League route yet."

With Toledo a finalist for his services, when can we expect to find out if Roback will pick the Midnight Blue and Gold? "I hope the next month or so," said Roback.

Stay tuned to Rocket Digest over the next month as we keep you updated on Derek Roback's status as a Toledo Rocket football prospect.
