New Commitment

The actual game in Cleveland against the Ohio State Buckeyes did not go well for the Rockets, but the deal paid off last night when head coach Tim Beckman and his staff received a commitment from a Cleveland area player. Read on to find out who has become the 8th commitment in the 2010 recruiting class for Toledo.

Rocket Digest has learned that Cleveland Glenville star linebacker James Gordon committed to Toledo last night. Gordon chose Toledo over offers from Ball State and Bowling Green. He was also receiving interest from some Big Ten schools, including Illinois, Michigan State, and Ohio State.

Gordon is a 6-2, 205 pound prospect that plays both linebacker and wide receiver in high school, but has been recruited to Toledo as a linebacker. He was recruited to Toledo by assistant coach Matt Campbell. He was in attendance for Toledo's game against Ohio State at Cleveland Browns Stadium this past Saturday on a UT recruiting visit. The game was considered Toledo's home game, so Toledo was allowed to have recruits at the game.

Check back with Rocket Digest over the next day or two as we bring the latest on Gordon's commitment to Toledo.
