Defensive Lineman is Commitment #11

In the last week Toledo has received commitments from three defensive line prospects. First was defensive tackle Keenen Gibbs and defensive end Zac Rosenbauer. Then yesterday defensive end Grant Pleasant (Dublin Scotio HS) gave his pledge to the Rockets. Read on for more on the 11th commitment to Toledo's 2010 recruiting class.

The Toledo Rocket coaching staff received their 3rd defensive line commitment in the past week yesterday when they got the call from Grant Pleasant.

Pleasant is a 6-3, 230 pound defensive end from Dublin Scioto High School in the state of Ohio. He had offers from Akron, Bowling Green, Ohio University, and Toledo before deciding to choose the Rockets over Bowling Green. He also had been hearing from Ball State, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Indiana, Iowa, Kent State, Michigan State, and Wisconsin.

When Rocket Digest interviewed Pleasant back in July, he had Toledo and Bowling Green as his favorites. Over the last couple of months, Pleasant felt more comfortable with the Rocket coaching staff. Then after watching two other defensive lineman commit to Toledo last week, he made the decision to commit as well.

Another recruiting source has Grant Pleasant rated as the 19th best defensive lineman in the state of Ohio. Of the 14 players in their Ohio Top 20 that have committed to a college, Pleasant is one of only two that have committed to a non-bcs school.

Pleasant has a 35.1" vertical jump, and runs a 4.7 forty yard dash.

Pleasant joins three star prospect Zac Rosenbauer (6-2, 245) and Keenen Gibbs (6-1, 250) as commitments on the defensive line for Toledo.

Toledo now has 11 commitments in the 2010 recruiting class, and will likely sign 22-24 players in the class. While there are not currently any junior college players committed, it is very possible that a couple could commit as part of the class and sign in December so that they can be on campus in January.
