This weekend will be a big recruiting weekend for the Toledo Rockets football program. Well over a dozen prospects will be on campus to see what the University of Toledo and the Rocket football program has to offer.

Several of the visitors are players that have already given the UT coaching staff a verbal commitment. QB/TE prospect Derek Roback (Waverly, OH), defensive back prospect Keith Suggs (Indianapolis, IN), defensive line prospect Keenen Gibbs (Cincinnati, OH), defensive line prospect Grant Pleasant (Dublin, OH), and defensive line prospect Elijah Jones (Indianapolis, IN) are among the committed players that will be on campus.

The committed prospects will not be the only prospects on campus this weekend. Some of the undecided prospects that will be on campus include quarterback prospect Verlon Reed (Columbus, OH), quarterback prospect Qudral Forte (Atlanta, GA), and JUCO wide receiver Dontel Watkins (El Dorado, KS).

Verlon Reed and Qudral Forte have been on Toledo's radar all summer and fall. Reed, 6-2 and 185 pounds, led Marion-Franklin High School to the state final four before losing to Cincinnati Winton Woods. Reed has offers from Toledo, Bowling Green, Kent State, and Syracuse. He has listed Toledo and Bowling Green as his favorites.

Qudral Forte, 6-1 and 175 pounds, led Booker T. Washington High School to a 6-4 record. He has offers from Toledo, East Carolina, North Carolina, Mississippi, Middle Tennessee State, and Georgia Tech.

JUCO wide receiver Dontel Watkins is 6-3, 205 pounds, and runs a 4.5 forty yard dash. He plays JUCO ball at Butler County Community College in El Dorado, KS. He had 16 receptions for 370 yards and 3 TD's on a team that primarily ran the ball. His 370 yards receiving was 2nd on the team, with the team leader having 444 yards receiving. He also had two carries for 21 yards. He only played in 9 games, while most players for Butler County played in 11 games.

But where Watkins really shined was on kick returns. He led the team with a 36.8 yard kick return average, and he ran a kick back for a touchdown.
