The University of Toledo men's basketball program has signed Delino Dear (6-9, 205) out of the Chicago, IL area. Dear originally committed to Drexel over Ole Miss and East Carolina. The 6-9 post player changed to Toledo and signed with the Rockets this morning.
The scouting report on Dear lists him as a post player that can slash and finish, or step out and hit the mid-range jump shot. He frequently beats other big men down the court as well. He is a little raw physically, and needs to develop his upper body strength.
Dear will be a true freshman at Toledo in the fall and will be given the opportunity to compete for minutes right away.
