NEW ORLEANS, La. – Head coach Chris Scelfo cancelled the Tulane football team's Friday workout due to weather conditions at the Westfeldt Facility.

"When we were getting ready to start, the weather was bad out there," Scelfo said. "And it will help some of the bumps and bruises. Tomorrow is our last big scrimmage which will decide a lot on the depth chart. I want to give these guys a chance to be ready."

On Saturday morning, members of the Tulane football team will offer helping hands to Tulane students as they move into the dormitories on campus. Classes begin Wednesday, August 25th, and the Saturday before classes is traditionally the busiest "moving day" for students.

Tulane's season opener is Sept. 4 at Mississippi State while the Wave's home opener is one week later versus Florida A&M at the Louisiana Superdome. Kickoff for that contest is at 6 p.m. Tickets for that game and the entire 2004 home schedule are on sale at the Green Wave Athletics Ticket Office in the James W. Wilson Center or by calling 504-861-WAVE.
