Green Wave To Host Alumni Weekends

Tulane Athletics will celebrate the accomplishments of its past football and volleyball teams and student-athletes at a pair of alumni reunions this November. NEW ORLEANS – Tulane Athletics will celebrate the accomplishments of its past football and volleyball teams and student-athletes at a pair of alumni reunions this November. All former Green Wave football and volleyball players are invited to attend on Nov. 5-6 (football) and Nov. 12-13 (volleyball) in New Orleans.

The Football Alumni Weekend on November 5-6 will highlight the 25th Anniversary of Tulane's 1979 Liberty Bowl team. Alumni will join Athletic Director Rick Dickson and members of the athletics staff for an evening reception in the James W. Wilson, Jr. Center beginning at 7 p.m.

Prior to the Tulane-Navy game at the Superdome Saturday night, alumni are invited to enjoy tailgating with the Tulane Alumni Association and the T-Club (Tulane letterwinners) at the Superdome beginning at 4 p.m. Following that, the returning players are invited to the Tulane Athletics Fund Coach's Corner, where coach Trey Godfrey, former Tulane football player, will discuss the scouting report for the game. At 5:30 p.m. the alumni will form the tunnel for the football team's entrance on the field. At halftime, the alumni will be introduced and presented with a gift.

On November 12-13, Tulane will commemorate the 30th Anniversary season of its volleyball program. Alumni will join Athletic Director Rick Dickson and staff for a reception in the James W. Wilson, Jr. Center at 4:30 p.m. At 7 p.m. the Tulane Green Wave volleyball team will take on UAB at Fogelman Arena. On Saturday, alumni are invited to join the current coaching staff for a pre-game luncheon at Cannon's Restaurant on St. Charles Ave. for $18 per person. From 6-7 p.m. the alumni will take part in an exclusive pre-game reception with assistant coach Liz Kritza, a former Tulane volleyball player, as she discusses the scouting report for the game. Following the reception, Tulane will face USF in the last home game of the season. During halftime, the alumni will be introduced on the court and presented with a gift.
