NEW ORLEANS – Tulane quarterback Lester Ricard earned a trio of weekly awards Monday, two days after leading the Green Wave to a 59-55 upset victory over UAB at Tad Gormley Stadium in New Orleans. Ricard was named the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week, the Louisiana Sportswriters Association Offensive Player of the Week and the Division I-A Performer of the Week by CollegeSportsReport.com.

The sophomore from Amite, La. threw a school-record six touchdown passes, including a 12-yard game-winner to Chris Bush with 27 seconds left on the clock. He completed 36-of-49 passes for 417 yards and did not throw an interception to set the Tulane record for most passes thrown in a game without an interception. His 417 yards rank third on the Tulane single-game list as he became only the second Wave quarterback to throw for more than 400 yards in a game, joining current Washington Redskins QB Patrick Ramsey with that distinction. The 36 completions tied for the second-highest total in school history.

While Tulane and Ricard started well, the Wave quarterback was masterful in the second half, completing 18-of-21 passes (85.7%) in the second half for 199 yards and three touchdowns. He had a string of 10 straight completions from his last pass of the first half to the eight-minute mark of the fourth quarter. On Tulane's game-winning drive, he completed seven-of-eight passes for 67 yards, including six straight completions to end the game.

On the season, Ricard has completed 95-of-159 passes for 1,182 yards with 15 touchdown passes and seven interceptions. He ranks 21st nationally in passing efficiency and is averaging nearly 200 yards of total offense per game.

Ricard and the Green Wave (2-4, 1-3) travel to Houston, Texas for a Saturday match-up versus the Houston Cougars (1-6, 1-3). Kickoff from Robertson Stadium in Houston is 4 p.m. (Central). Tulane returns to the Superdome for back-to-back home games on November 6 and 13 versus Navy and Army, respectively. Tickets for those contests are available at the Tulane Athletics Ticket Office at 504-861-WAVE.
