Andrews Hearing from Green Wave

Quinton Andrews (5-11, 190, 4.65) excels at both wide receiver and safety for Monsignor Pace High School in Miami, Florida. When asked about Andrews recruitment, Head Coach Joe Zaccheo said, "He's going to West Virginia this weekend and Florida next weekend. He's also hearing from Tulane and Rutgers." Coach Zaccheo also mentioned that these were not Andrews only suitors. Georgia and North Carolina State had also reportedly been involved in his recruitment.

At the MSL Combine, Andrews posted a 4.34 short shuttle, benched 14 reps (with 185 pounds), and had a 34.0" vertical jump; all good numbers for a Division I-A prospect at safety. When asked about his 4.96 in the 40 that he ran at the combine, Zaccheo replied, "He usually runs in the mid 4.6's or 4.7. He plays fast. Put it this way, he never got beat deep because of his speed, and he never didn't score a touchdown because of his speed."

When asked about his prospects at the next level, Zaccheo said, "Amazing! He has the best set of hands at this level that I have seen for a long time. Quinton has football sense. He's very smart and he's always where the ball is. He puts himself in the right position to make plays."

As a junior, Andrews had 128 tackles, 4 interceptions, and scored 10 touchdowns for the Class 3A state champs. He was named 3rd Team All-State and 1st Team All-Dade County. As a senior, he recorded 60 tackles, 6 sacks, 2 interceptions, and 6 pass breakups. Offensively, he had 40 catches for 486 yards (12.2 yards per reception) and 6 touchdowns. Andrews was a repeat selection as 1st Team All-Dade County.
