Recruit Profile: Jamie McMurchy

Clear Lake linebacker Jamie McMurchy (6-0 ¾, 210, 4.51) reminds his coach a lot of former Falcon and Green Wave linebacker Blake Baker. McMurchy, who committed following his visit to Tulane this weekend, was a three-year starter for Coach Troy Aduddell. He was named Clear Lake's Outstanding Linebacker as a junior and senior.

Coach Aduddell commented on McMurchy' future with the Green Wave. "We sent Blake Baker to Tulane, he was district defensive MVP. He's been phenomenal. He was a three-year starter and team captain (at Tulane)." Aduddell continued, "Jamie is in his mold, he aggressive. He's going to be a great asset to Tulane. He's a taller, faster version of Blake Baker."

As a junior, McMurchy was a unanimous choice for 1st Team All-District 24-5A. As a senior, he recorded 132 total tackles, 90 unassisted tackles, 42 assists, 8 tackles for loss, 1 interception, 5 pass breakups, 8 quarterback hurries, 2 fumble recoveries, and 4 forced fumbles for the 13-2 state semifinalist. He was named 2nd Team All-District.

When asked about McMurchy's academics, Coach Aduddell said, "Oh, he's going to be a doctor."
