NEW ORLEANS, La.–The Tulane University baseball team will put its seven-game winning streak on the line over the weekend when the 10th -ranked Green Wave take on No. 9 Pepperdine in a three-game slate at Zephry Field.

Tulane and Pepperdine open the weekend on Friday, Feb. 24 at 6:30 p.m., play game-two on Saturday at 2 p.m. and close out the series on Sunday with first pitch slated for 1 p.m. All three games will be broadcast live on the flagship station of Tulane baseball, WRBH 88.3 FM, and the games can also be heard live on the web via the All-Access Pass on the web at www.TulaneGreenWave.com. Tulane enters this weekend's series vs. Pepperdine 7-1 on the year and fresh off a 10-2 victory over cross-town foe UNO in game one of the WOW Cafe & Wingery Cup on Tuesday at Zephyr Field.

As a team, the Green Wave are hitting .302 with a .430 slugging percentage courtesy of 16 doubles, three triples and four of home runs. Sophomore third baseman Jonny Weiss leads the Green Wave with a .462 batting average while sophomore shortstop Cat Everett and redshirt-freshman outfielder Warren McFadden follow closely with respective marks of .393 and .360. Sophomore second baseman Brad Emaus has a team-best two home runs, McFadden paces the club with nine RBI and senior centerfielder Nathan Southard leads the squad with three steals.

From the mound, the Green Wave have a 2.34 ERA and have held opponents to a .246 batting average. As a staff, Tulane hurlers have combined for 63 strikeouts and just eight walks in 73.0 innings. Billy Mohl leads the team with a 0.00 ERA and 14.0 innings pitched, and sophomore Sean Morgan headlines the K-crew with 16 strikeouts. Junior Daniel Latham paces the bullpen with five appearances and has both of the Green Wave's saves.

Pepperdine, meanwhile, comes to town 6-5 on the year and looking to bounce back from a 2-0 loss to UCLA on Tuesday at Jackie Robinson Stadium. Prior to the loss to the Bruins, however, the Waves took two of three from then-No. 2 Oregon State last weekend in Malibu, Calif.

As a team, the Waves are hitting a .255 with a .346 slugging percentage courtesy of 20 doubles, two triples and three home runs. Adrian Ortiz leads Pepperdine with a .414 batting average while David Uribes and Luke Salas follow with marks of .293 and .286, respectively. Chad Tracy leads the team with nine RBI, and is tied for the team home run lead along with Danny Worth and Donald Brown with one each.

From the mound, the Waves have a 3.64 ERA and have held opponents to a .265 batting average. As a staff, Pepperdine hurlers have combined for 63 strikeouts and 35 walks in 96.1 innings. Paul Coleman leads the team with a 3.57 ERA and 17 strikeouts, while Barry Enright paces the club with 23.2 innings pitched. Brett Hunter has a team-best five appearances and both of the Waves' saves to date.

This weekend's games will mark the 16th , 17th and 18th times Tulane and Pepperdine will meet on the diamond, and the Green Wave hold a 9-6 advantage in the all-time series. The Green Wave have played the Waves in weekend series in each of the past five seasons, and Tulane has won the last three, including a 2-1 series victory last season in Malibu. Tulane is 6-3 vs. the Waves at home.
