The Green Wave closes out it's home schedule against the Knights by honoring 19 players including 17 seniors, who will conclude their eligibility next weekend when the Wave wraps up the season when they visit the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes.
Tulane has lost it's last two ball games, falling in a Custer's last stand type of ball game for the Tulane offense last weekend at the Superdome to the Golden Eagles of USM by the score of 31-3. The Eagles limited the Green Wave offense to 85 yards total offense.
The Wave was without the servces of junior running back Matt Forte for the USM game and for the remainder of the season after Forte injured his knee making a tackle in the Marshall game two weeks ago.
Boudreaux has gained 136 yards on 33 carries, a 4.1 yards per carry average; Ade Tuyo has 59 net yards on 17 carries; Anderson has a net of 9 yards and touchdown on 11 carries.
Quarterback Lester Ricard,a fifth-year senior, will be among the honorees Saturday. Ricard pulls the trigger on the offense, and has thrown for 2,450 yards and 17 touchdowns against 9 interceptions on 193 completions in 336 attempts. However Ricard was limited to 12 yards on 1-of-8 passing by USM. Ricard was sacked twice by the Golden Eagles and threw an interception.
Jeremy Williams, a redshirt freshman from Houston, has made 29 catches for 370 yards and 2 touchdowns. Forte had 28 receptions prior to his injury, totalling 360 yards and 2 touchdowns on those catches.
Sophomore Brian King adds 15 catches for 267 yards and 3 touchdowns to the Tulane offense, while redshirt freshman Chris Dunn has 14 catches for 182 yards. Michael Batiste has made 11 catches for 116 yards and a touchdown, and Gabe Ratcliff has 10 grabs for 108 yards and a touchdown.
Juior receiver Kenneth Guidroz had 10 catches for 150 yards and 2 touchdowns before suffering a broken leg at mid-season.
Defensively, the Green Wave's leading tackler is strong safety David Skehan with 70 stops. Skehan has made 4 interceptions and has 5.5 tackles for loss. Senior cornerback Israel Route is second on the teams in total tackles with 55. Izzy also has an interception.
Only 6 of the Green Wave's top 23 tacklers, all of whom have made at least 10 tackles this season, will return for next season. Seven of that group of twenty three leading tacklers are first or second year players.
