Effort was not enough, as Tulane (2-6) fell to #15 LSU (6-2) 35-10 Saturday night at Tiger Stadium. The Tigers outgained the Green Wave 330 to 163 with 231 yards coming on the ground. The Tigers received an outstanding performance from running back Charles Scott who rushed for 114 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries.
opened the scoring when Scott found the endzone from 7 yards out with 8:43 remaining in the first quarter. Tulane

to cut the Tigers's lead to 7-3. The Tigers then scored 21 unanswered points to expand the lead to 28-3 in the fourth quarter. Green Wave linebacker Travis Burks

pass with 7:33 remaining in the game and returned it 43 yards to cut the LSU lead to 28-10. LSU running back Stevan Ridley
closed out the scoring with a 2 yard touchdown run with 1:18 left in the contest. Ridley accounted for 51 of 54 yards on the drive for the Tigers.
Freshman running back Nathan Austin led the Green Wave in rushing with 53 yards on 16 carries. Austin was also Tulane's leading receiver with 3 catches for 23 yards. As Coach Bob Toledo promised, quarterbacks Kevin Moore and Joe Kemp rotated the entire game. Moore finished the night completing 6 of 11 pass attempts for 44 yards while Kemp went 5-for-12 for 40 yards. Defensively, Corey Sonnier led the Green Wave with 7 tackles.
Tulane returns to action Saturday against the Houston Cougars at Robertson Stadium in Houston. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
